iTero® Element™ Digital Scanner – Impressionless Scanning

The iTero® Element™ makes it possible to create digital impressions for orthodontic procedures such as Invisalign®, crowns and implant procedures in just a couple of minutes, without the need for messy putties or the discomfort associated with other impression techniques.

The iTero scanner allows your dentist to take a digital impression—a highly accurate, digital 3D image of the individual characteristics of your tooth surfaces and gum tissue. The iTero scanner is all about keeping you comfortable while delivering precise imagery, without the putty-filled impression tray that makes you gag! Not only is it more comfortable, but taking a digital scan for your new crown, bridge, or Invisalign® aligners is quick, which allows you to spend less time at the dentist’s office and more time enjoying your new smile!

The iTero® Element™ also has a built-in simulator – we scan the teeth and create a simulation of what your teeth may look like in a straighter, corrected position. You will be able to see you how orthodontic treatment can improve your smile, before you even have the treatment!

Piezo® Ultrasonic Surgical Drill

The Piezosurgery® Drill is a new instrument that can be used for bone surgery in a variety of dental surgical specialties. Using an ultrasonic vibrating tip and water rather than a powerful rotating drill, the Piezosurgery® unit is much safer, less traumatic, causes little to no bleeding, and greatly accelerates healing times.

The dental piezotome is an ultrasonic generator that greatly aids in pre-implants, wisdom teeth extraction, and sinus lift procedures. Instead of using a dental drill that cuts soft tissue and anything in its path, the piezotome is extremely precise and only cuts bone.

CariVu™ Caries Detection

CariVu™ caries detection device uses patented transillumination technology that makes enamel appear transparent allowing the dentist to see through the tooth, exposing its structure and the development of any carious lesions. Although images read like familiar X-ray images, CariVu™ uses non-ionizing radiation which is ideal for children, pregnant women and patients who are X‑ray averse.

Rotary Endodontics

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.

Rotary Endodontics is the procedure in which a power driven instrument is used for root canal treatments. The use of power driven instruments allows for more accurate cleaning and shaping of your root canal, thus allowing it to be filled easier and with more predictable results. This technology also dramatically reduces post-operative sensitivity, time spent in the dental chair and discomfort compared to conventional endodontic treatment.

Laser Dentistry

Laser Dentistry offers you the opportunity to have a safe, anxiety free dental experience, without drills and scalpels, and in most cases, without anesthesia. The laser acts as a cutting instrument or a vaporizer of tissue that it comes in contact with in surgical and dental procedures. .

Laser Dentistry uses laser energy and a gentle spray of water to perform a wide range of dental procedures – without the heat, vibration and pressure associated with the dental drill. The laser beam sterilizes the affected area and seals off blood vessels, which minimizes the chance of infection or bleeding. Patients are also much more comfortable during and after treatment with laser therapy

Computer Guided Implant Surgery

We use state-of-the-art technology including Computer Guided Implant Surgery to ensure the optimum results in patient care.

In the past radiographic images used to place implants were two dimensional providing a reasonable estimate of bone height. Often bone width was not determined until the bone was exposed during surgery sometimes resulting in compromised placement of the implant.

Computer Guided Implant Surgery gives very detailed 3-D visualizations and coupled with the appropriate software allows us to place implants with a level of precision that was unattainable several years ago. In addition, the surgical procedures can often be accomplished in a much more conservative procedure which involves greatly reduced discomfort, less treatment time and a more accurate final outcome.

Computer Guided Implant placement is the safest and most precise way to place dental implants.

Formlab 3D Printed Surgical Guides

Our Planning Software allows us to plan implant cases based on Cone Beam or CT data and to obtain precise drilling templates for use during implant insertion. It allows us to determine the optimal implant position, taking the existing bone as well as the planned prosthetical position into account.

The next step is to export the digital model into our in-house Formlab 3D desktop printer, which instantly prepares it for printing. Recent developments in 3D printing technology, software development and computing power allows us to create a 3D high resolution printed guide which we use for precise implant placement.

DIAGNOdent

DIAGNOdent is an advanced laser technology that helps us find tooth decay. We use it along with visual examination, dental explorers, and x-rays.

Visual examination and dental explorers are often useful for finding decay on the surfaces of teeth. We may also use x-rays to help us find advanced decay and decay between teeth. We add DIAGNOdent to help us locate decay that’s hidden inside the tooth where visual examination, explorers, and x-rays can’t find it.

How does DIAGNOdent work? The tip of the DIAGNOdent hand piece scans your teeth with harmless pulses of laser light. When the laser reaches decay under the surface of the tooth, the decay emits a fluorescent light. This fluorescent light bounces back to the sensor, and is translated into an audible signal and a digital readout. In general, the higher the number, the greater the amount of decay in the tooth.

With DIAGNOdent, we can more accurately and reliably find decay in its earliest stages, before it causes more widespread damage. This early detection enables us to provide treatment before your tooth is at risk of more extensive and expensive treatment. Your restorations will be smaller and less costly, and you’ll be able to retain more of your own natural, healthy tooth.

Panorex Digital X-rays

If you’ve had dental X-rays, you know how beneficial they can be in finding cavities. But what about dental problems not pertaining to your teeth? Now there’s a dental X-ray that can help us see other areas of your mouth. Much like a panoramic picture, the Panorex X-ray provides a full view of the scenery — in this case, your entire oral cavity!
The Panorex X-ray is a single picture of all your teeth and surrounding bones. Sometimes referred to as a full mouth X-ray, the Panorex provides a two-dimensional panoramic view of your mouth. The resulting X-ray includes more than just a couple of teeth at a time — and is an excellent alternative to the tiny pictures we has to piece together to see a complete set of your teeth. What this means to you as a patient is that there is greatly improved information for the doctor and can see much more than with traditional Xrays, thus allowing better diagnosis and treatment to you as the patient.

The Panorex X-ray also exposes parts of your jaw that can’t be seen with traditional dental X-rays.

Low Dose Digital X-Rays

Dental x-rays (Radiographs) are essential, preventative, diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam. Digital Radiography is a type of X-ray imaging that uses digital X-ray sensors to replace traditional photographic X-ray film, producing enhanced computer images of teeth, gums, and other oral structures and conditions. This allows the doctors to get a much better view of your teeth and any potential dental conditions. The digital imaging software obtains a number of different views of your teeth to gain the best understanding of your situation and develop the most appropriate course of management.

Digital sensors are more responsive than film so that much less radiation is required to produce a digital image.

The Wand

Our patients routinely comment on how painless and gentle their treatments. This is in no small part due to “The Wand” painless injection system. In most cases the pain associated with injections comes from the flow of the anesthetic into the body, as opposed to the insertion of the needle itself. The Wand is a computer-controlled anesthetic distribution system that is designed to prevent any pain at all. It evenly flows into the system so that only the exact part of the mouth being treated is numbed, and it does it with such accuracy that it is in fact painless.

Responsive image

DENTALVIBE® PAIN-FREE INJECTIONS

Needle fears keep many people away from the dentist. Postponing dental procedures because of these fears is common, but ultimately results in worsening problems and other serious oral health concerns. 95% of the patients that have experienced the DentalVibe Injection Comfort System say that it has changed their view on going to the dentist.

The DentalVibe applies a light vibration to the tissues around the injection site while anesthesia injections are administered. Research has shown that when vibration and injection sensations are occurring simultaneously, the vibration feeling reaches the brain first and essentially blocks the feeling of the injection from being perceived by the brain. Children and adults no longer have to be afraid of the needle.

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)

Platelet Rich Fibrin is a by-product of blood that is exceptionally rich in platelets. The blood platelets perform several essential functions in the body, including blood clot formation and the release of growth factors that help to heal wounds. These growth factors stimulate the stem cells to produce new host tissue as quickly as possible, which is why platelet rich fibrin is so effective in the post-treatment healing process after extractions, perio surgery, and implant surgery.

We will first determine if you are a candidate for PRF treatment. Patients with blood clotting disorders will be unable to take advantage of this treatment. A small (about 2 oz) sample of your blood will be collected during a scheduled outpatient treatment. The blood will be placed into a centrifuge to separate the plasma and fibrin from the red blood cells. The centrifuge concentrates the platelets, fibrin and white blood cells which contain a growth factor called Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF).

When the surgical procedure begins the PRF will be applied to the surgical area in a high concentration. This will expedite your healing and decrease the amount of discomfort following the surgery.

First off let me start with I have always had problems with my teeth and growing up we were pretty poor and our dental needs were definitely neglected due to this. So I haven't seen a dentist for many years even as an adult. My back tooth broke and it had a very sharp edge so I had no choice but to have it taken care of. Great! My biggest fear as far as medical goes would be the dentist. I wasn't looking foward to it. I had no clue where a good place to go would be. I was recommended by a friend to try this dental office. When I first walked in, my nerves were so bad that my blood pressure was off the charts. The guy at the front was so nice and tried his best to make me feel more at ease. I didn't feel like I was bothering him or that he was rolling his eyes inside of his head at me being such a big baby. Once the lady called me back, she also was so sweet. Every assistant and employee I met was over the top just so nice! They all called me by name like we've known each other forever. They noticed how nervous I was and they made sure to explain everything in great detail and actually listened to whatever I was jabbering on about (I'm sorry guys!) the doctor comes in and he's very friendly, and makes you laugh. He's soft spoken and not aggressive at all which made me feel a little better but still I was afraid. When I had my first procedure, the ladies were gentle, funny, and I actually had a good time (I had some gas to help me relax haha) this was so new to me because the last time I went to the dentist, he made me feel so forgettable and like I didn't really matter, he was just trying to get done and move on. Didn't care about my discomfort. So I was pleasantly surprised and confused why these people were being so nice and wasting their time to talk to me like they were actually interested. That's because they are. Cecilia is always a pleasure also. She's so sweet and really cares about my worries and my discomfort. She's so good at reassurance and relaxing me. I couldn't do it without her! Today I had another procedure done. I got to meet another extremely nice girl who really made me feel important. Bernadette, is an amazing person who made me feel not only important but human.. It's always fun after my appt when I get to slur talk to Kari. Bless her heart for not giving up on me haha. This dentist and the staff cares about their patients and has given me the biggest blessing by helping me come up with a plan so I can afford everything I need. Who does that? Someone with a good heart. People like me, who are good people and work hard to barely make it, don't get to have healthy teeth. But because of him, I can finally get my teeth to a healthier place. Thank you for everything you do! This means more to me than you know!
